Joel Koenig is the Managing Member in the Washington, DC office of The Koenig Group, LLC, a consulting organization offering creative planning strategies to affluent clients of Law Firms, CPA Firms and Investment Counselors.
Through its joint marketing and strategic partners, it renders services to clients nationally. The Koenig Group, LLC is also a Registered Investment Advisor. Joel was formerly a Founder, Officer and Director of The Management Compensation Group, Inc.’s Washington, DC office and The Todd Organization of Washington, DC and M Financial Corporation. He was also a Director of National Philanthropic ALLIANCES.
Joel has lectured on various topics throughout the country at CLU, CPA, bar association, tax conferences and six estate planning councils. He has written extensively on qualified plans, split dollar, charitable tax planning and family wealth perpetuation.
Joel has practiced in Washington, DC for over 35 years following his graduation from the University of Michigan and attendance at New York University’s Graduate School of Business. He has been a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals (formerly The American College) since 1974, The Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) since 1967, The American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPA, Associate Member), The International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) and The MDRT's Top of the Table (charter member), and completed his directorship of the Advisory Board of The Twenty-Five Million Dollar International Forum. Joel is a member of the Small Business Council of America (SBCA) and he also serves on the Charitable Planning Subcommittee of the AALU.
